Where the reviews come from
A directory is worth what its reviews are worth. Here is how they will be collected, what we will never do with them, and why there are none yet.
Today: no real reviews
The ratings and review counts you see belong to demonstration profiles: they are invented, like the agencies carrying them, and each profile says so. No couple has left a review here yet, because nobody has yet been introduced through this site.
Who will be able to leave a review
Only a couple whose enquiry went through this site and whose wedding has taken place. The invitation goes out after the wedding date, once, to the address used for the enquiry. You cannot leave a review arriving from nowhere, nor leave two.
What we will not do
- Buy reviews, sell them, or accept them from a third party.
- Remove a negative review because an agency asks, or charge that agency for its right of reply.
- Publish a rating without saying how many reviews it rests on.
- Sort reviews to float the good ones: the order is chronological, most recent first.
What we will remove
Illegal content, an insult, personal data (an employee’s name, a phone number), or a review that is not about the service — a review of a caterer, say, or of a wedding that never happened. Every removal is explained in writing to its author, and the agency is not told in advance.
The right of reply
Free, with no deadline, published right under the review and signed by the agency. It is often the reply, more than the review, that tells a couple how an agency handles a problem.
Reporting a review
Write to contact@weddingplannermap.com naming the profile and what looks wrong. We answer, whether or not we take the review down.
